Chapter Philanthropy and Service

The creed of Zeta Tau Alpha teaches us “to think in terms of all mankind and our service in the world”. By providing support for programs that are educational, philanthropic, and leadership-oriented, we work to fulfill these founding principles that are stressed so strongly in our creed. Our primary source of global service was cemented in 1992, when Zeta Tau Alpha formed alliance with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and elected Breast Cancer Education and Awareness as its national philanthropy. Over the years, we have formed strong partnerships with numerous Breast Cancer Awareness programs, allowing our focus to expand beyond the Susan G. Komen Foundation and incorporate other educational means all dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. Since then, we have discontinued our partnership with the Susan G. Komen Foundation, but have secured partnerships including the National Football League, SELF magazine, and Lifetime Television.

Participation in philanthropic events and volunteering are perhaps some of the most rewarding experiences sisters receive upon membership in Zeta Tau Alpha. Breast cancer affects millions every day, and many of us are personally affected by it. As a result, the ladies of Kappa Iota are dedicated to the fulfillment of our responsibilities as stewards in promoting breast cancer education, and continuously search for new methods of making a difference in our community. Throughout each year, our sisters coordinate and actively participate in various service events that strive to positively impact both our college campus and the individuals of the Bethlehem community.

Please view the “Involvement” sub-section under activities to view some of the wonderful philanthropic events that the ladies of Kappa Iota have coordinated and participated in!
